I'm not actualy snarky at the moment, I actually find it hard to hang onto being angry and am terrible at being a longterm ice queen (I find myself very quickly fading from incandescent and then being annoyed at myself for not being able to stay angry lol). But it's before 7am on a Sunday and I've already been up for an hour and if that wasn't bad enough I'm being forced to watch Dora the mass marketed and over exposed explorer.
I cannot stand Dora. I can't stand the way she talks slower than a wet week. I hate the way she is interminably enthusiastic. I hate the way they do those stupid pauses during the show for children to feel like they're interacting with the screen. I hate the stupid monkey. I LIKE Swiper and feel like he gets completely jipped being as he's the most interesting character on the show. But what I hate most is that even though the Elfling has only seen this show about 3 times in her life, she can identify the characters thanks to the marketing and will ask for a toothbrush/sugary snack/milk that has Dora's face on it.
Bah.

Another way to look at Dora: she's afantastic because she's a strong chick, who traipses around the countryside with a backpack and a pair of shorts - no mamby pamby fairy dresses for her. She speaks two languages. She's tough and has animal friends. Ther's no poofy prince charming or pooncy dwarves.
I much prefer Dora and Bindi the jungle girl to Bratz and Cinderella
I just wanna know what the matter is. Spill.
