Diary of an Exam Day... Part Two

Sit in holding area with 40 other students who are anxiously reciting drug doses and and lists of investigations. Raise anxiety levels for first 30 minutes to ridiculous levels...

1 hour later, try to maintain enthusiasm and gut wrenching adrenaline high... recite drug doses some more to try and inject some fear back into proceedings...

2 hours later, think wistfully of yum cha while maintaining half hearted effort at reviewing venereal disease but mostly just looking at gross pictures...

3 hours later consider mutiny with leftover students Survivor style. Forget any and all obstetric and gynaecology knowledge as we debate Sally Specter from Bold and the Beautiful

4 hours later finally get called in, care factor zero, all nervousness is feigned - goal is to get in, get out and go home.

4 hours and 15 minutes later - completely discombobulated... where are the tricky questions? Where is the left field curve ball?? Where is the random epidemiology question that we hadn't been prepared for? Where is the obscure complication that we're expected to manage?

4 hours 20 minutes later - leave exam room completely dazed and confused. Simply the weirdest exam I've ever had. Passed I'm sure, because there was no real way to mess it up.

6 hours later, at home, eating chocolate bavarian for dinner and attempting to inject some panic so as to get hyped up for exam at 8:30am next morning. Fail at injecting panic so do past exam papers in between blasting iksars on EQII. Go to bed early. Get woken up by inconsolable teething Monkey. Go back to sleep after settling her... sleep soundly...

I just knew you were going to ace it. Well done. Off to read part three, which has already been posted. That'll teach me to go shopping in the morning.
